Project Construction & Staging
During the design process, it was decided that closures and detours of TH 19 and the I-35 Ramps should be minimized to the greatest extent. As a result of that decision, the project will be constructed in 6 stages during the project. The next pages will show the proposed staging of the project, estimated durations, and if any closures are proposed.
Please keep in mind that the Contractor may propose changes to the staging to aid in constructibility and/or to reduce the duration of the individual stage of the project.
Estimated construction durations are weather-dependent.

Stage 2B
Description: Stage 2B will begin with removing the eastbound (EB) lanes from the bypass roadway. The north portion of the roundabout will be constructed during this stage.
Traffic Impacts: CSAH 46 (Hazelwood Ave.), CR 59 (Anoka Ave.), and the NB I-35 Exit Ramp will remain closed. Eastbound (EB) TH 19 thru traffic will utilize the new roundabout to continue towards Northfield. The NB I-35 Entrance Ramp will be closed to EB TH 19 traffic. Westbound (WB) TH 19 traffic will continue to use the temporary bypass roadway.
Detour: NB I-35 Exit Ramp will continue to be detoured via the CSAH 1 Interchange, west to CSAH 46 (Bagley Avenue), and then north to TH 19. The NB I-35 Entrance Ramp detour will begin for EB TH 19 traffic. The detour will use the SB I-35 Entrance Ramp to the CSAH 1 interchange, then east on CSAH 1 to the NB I-35 Entrance Ramp and continue north on I-35.
